The past November 30th, Cocentaina was filled with excitement during the 2nd Rafa Valls International Cyclocross Trophy – Fira Tots Sants. This event brought together nearly 500 cyclists and over 1,200 attendees, solidifying its position as one of the most significant cyclocross competitions in Spain.
At Iberpapel, we are proud to have been a principal sponsor of this event, reaffirming our commitment to local sports and the values of effort, perseverance, and teamwork. If you want to learn more about our involvement in the event, you can read the previous article about the trophy here.
A High-Caliber Circuit
The circuit, located in the Polígono Beniassent route in Cocentaina, was designed to test both the cyclists’ endurance and technical skills. With 3 kilometers of course, it featured stretches of asphalt, dirt, stairs, planks, and a 40-meter sandbank, creating an unforgettable spectacle for the audience.
The competition began at 8:30 AM with the cadet categories and continued throughout the day with the elite men’s and women’s races. The victors were Belgian cyclist Yorben Lauryssen and Swiss cyclist Léa Stern. The photos of the race and podium showcase the intensity and excitement of every lap.
Iberpapel: Visible in Every Detail
Our commitment as sponsors was present throughout the entire circuit. From the finish line structure, the advertising banners, to the official event signage, Iberpapel stood alongside the cyclists and the community, demonstrating our dedication to initiatives that blend tradition and sports.
Additionally, we made two significant donations: one to cover the operational costs of the race and another to design the participants’ official jersey, further strengthening our direct support to the organization.
You can view some images of the circuit and our presence as sponsors in the photo gallery included in this article, along with the official video capturing the best moments of the day.

A Successful Event for the Community
The event was made possible thanks to the Rafa Valls Cycling Club, led by Andrés Pascual, and the Cocentaina Town Hall, headed by Mayor Jordi Pla i Valor. Both highlighted the importance of this competition, not just as a sporting event but as a driver for local economic activity and community ties.
The race is part of the Fira de Tots Sants programming, a centuries-old fair that attracts thousands of visitors annually. This connection between tradition and sports reinforces Cocentaina’s position as a cultural and sporting hub in the region.
Looking Ahead
The success of the 2nd Rafa Valls Trophy fills us with excitement to continue supporting initiatives like this. At Iberpapel, we remain committed to our mission of building a more active and united community.
