At Iberpapel S.L.U., sustainability and social responsibility are not just concepts but fundamental pillars of our business strategy. As manufacturers of custom rolling papers with a firm commitment to the environment, we have implemented concrete policies and actions to ensure that our production is sustainable, responsible, and eco-friendly.
Recently, our Quality, Marketing, Human Resources, and Management teams participated in training on Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility, reinforcing our commitment to the planet and society. This training highlights our determination to continue aligning our operations with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), driving the entire workforce to work with a global focus on sustainability.
Sustainability at Every Stage of Production
Iberpapel is firmly committed to reducing its environmental impact. Each of our products is made following strict sustainability policies that encompass every step from sourcing raw materials to final production.
- Paper from sustainable forests: All of our wood-based papers are certified by the FSC® (Forests for All, Forever), ensuring that the raw materials come from responsibly managed forests. This certification guarantees that our paper production avoids harmful practices such as illegal logging or forest conversion to other uses.
- Renewable energy: Our commitment to the environment goes beyond raw materials. All the energy used in our plant comes from renewable sources (more information), including our own installation of 276 solar panels that allow us to generate clean energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This investment in renewable energy directly contributes to combating climate change and promoting sustainable development.
- Resource and waste management: We hold the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Certification (more information), ensuring the proper management of waste generated at our plant. In one year, we recycle nearly 36,000 kilos of paper and cardboard packaging, and we are developing circular economy projects with our key suppliers.
Commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
This comprehensive approach to sustainability is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the United Nations. We focus especially on SDG 12, which promotes responsible production and consumption, and SDG 13, which encourages climate action. Through these efforts, we not only improve our production processes but also raise awareness among our clients and stakeholders about the importance of adopting more sustainable practices.
Training for a Responsible Future
The sustainability training received by the entire Iberpapel team strengthens our mission to continue growing efficiently and sustainably. This training equips our teams to effectively integrate best practices in sustainability across all departments, ensuring that every link in our production chain acts consistently with the company’s environmental and social commitments.
We are proud that our entire workforce is aligned with our vision for the future, working together towards a 4.0 industry model that respects the environment, reduces its carbon footprint, and fosters sustainable innovation. The Carbon Footprint Certification (more information) is a clear example of how we continuously monitor our environmental impact, implementing actions to reduce and offset it.
Corporate Social Responsibility
At Iberpapel, we care not only for the environment but also for people. Our Corporate Social Responsibility policy (more information) leads us to actively collaborate with social projects and associations in our community, supporting vulnerable groups and participating in charitable initiatives.
Towards a More Sustainable Future
Thanks to these efforts and the continuous training of our team, Iberpapel continues to lead the sector in sustainability and innovation. Every day, we take another step towards a future where responsible production and environmental care are the norm, not the exception. Our goal is clear: to continue manufacturing high-quality rolling paper in a way that is sustainable and respectful of the environment.
